3D Printed Willys RC 4X4
myminifactory
Hi everyone! I've had this uploaded across multiple pages for a while now, and it's finally time to bring everything together under one page. This project started after I got in touch with the creator of the Ossum Jeep and asked about a fully printed version that didn't rely on a donor RC vehicle. When I learned there were no plans to create such a version anytime soon, we exchanged ideas, made a new friendship, and I felt compelled to design what I had envisioned. This is a remixed version of the original Ossum Jeep, which shares some components with the original but is dimensionally exact. It's designed from scratch to be fully 3D printed, including axles and the entire drivetrain, making it a true 1:10 scale radio-controlled 4X4. The Jeep uses parts easily found online or at local hobby and hardware stores. Links are provided on Instructables to various items on Amazon and AliExpress. This project is designed to be an affordable 4X4 crawler that anyone can print and assemble from scratch using basic hand tools and some mechanical and electrical knowledge. It features a Tamiya motor and gearbox cleverly hidden in a faux engine, with the transmission entirely printed except for a carbon fiber shaft and bearings. The axles are also designed to use common items like carbon fiber tubing and 1/8" square shafts called key stock. I hope you guys enjoy building this! If you have any issues or if there's anything missing from the STL files, let me know. Instructions can be found at http://www.instructables.com/id/3D-Printed-Willys-RC-4X4/.
