3D Printed Tricopter
pinshape
Here is my 3D printed tricopter, a project I've been working on that was temporarily put on the back burner due to increasing work commitments. The design has been completed and it's now in good working order. There are some upcoming modifications planned which will improve both this model and my 3D printed Quadcopter. I'm very pleased with how the design turned out, and I'm happy to have a tricopter back in my fleet of multi-rotors. The tricopter was, after all, my first love in the world of multi-rotors. So here it is - feel free to build, modify, provide feedback, or simply fly! If you enjoy my designs, a small donation would be greatly appreciated. Update 8/14/13: If anyone is looking to use a CCD camera instead of a GoPro, check out this link - http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:133200. Update 6/30/13: I've removed the links to HobbyKing because their links seem to change constantly. A quick search for any components on HobbyKing or Google should yield good results. Instructions: 1. Print all plates at a minimum of 20% infill with two shells. 2. Print motor mounts at 50% infill. 3. Print spacers at a minimum of 25% infill. 4. Print the Servo mount at 20% infill. 5. Carbon tubes are sandwiched between spacers and motor mounts, which can be secured using a drop or two of superglue or a set screw. I sourced most of this equipment from Hobbyking, but you may want to try http://www.getfpv.com for your electronics needs - they're a great one-stop shop for multirotors and FPV. Electronics List: Motors: NX-4008-620kv ESCs: Turnigy Plush 30A Battery: Turnigy Nanotech 3S or 4S 4000mah Flight Controller: KK 2.0
