3D Printed String and Disk Centrifugal Spinner

3D Printed String and Disk Centrifugal Spinner

My two young inventors crafted cardboard string and disk spinning toys at our local Science Museum last week. Let's just say that their initial attempts at evenly spacing holes in the disk left something to be desired, so they never quite achieved top speed. We collaborated to rapidly design a new version using solidworks software, and quickly printed out a V2 for them to test and learn from. Simply print out the attached model, add some string, and let the hands-on exploration of centrifugal and gyroscopic forces begin. I have included the Solidworks Native File, as well as Step, X_T, STL, and Fusion360 files for easy customization and modification. Feel free to play with the design to make it your own and bring out its full potential.
