Hi there! If you somehow ended up on this page then I'm going to assume that you're already familiar with my Quick Dettach Airsoft Suppressor design. If not, no worries, here is the link to it: https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/various/quick-detach-airsoft-suppressor This design replaces a metal spring required to achieve the locking function in my QD suppressor. I understand that having to wind a spring yourself is a bit of an inconvenience. A printed spring is one of the solutions I came up with to omit that process. I need to point out that this is purely an experiment so please treat it as such. If you have the ability to make a metal spring then there are still good reasons to do it: The printed spring will experience waaay more mechanical wear. It may fail at some point. I don't know when, it is for you to find out :) The metal one is pretty much immortable in comparison. The printed spring will deform under static load. I designed it so that the mechanism should still work after it does, but a point of no return exists. If you were to leave the suppressor mounted on your gun for a longer period of time it could deform so much that it won't lock properly. You will not experience this with a metal spring. If the above-stated issues sound bearable to you then go ahead and print it. I suggest you use ABS due to it's decent minimizing-of-deformation performance. I found PLA and PETG to be hopeless in that regard. If the printed spring doesn't work for you then there is still one option. I redesigned the suppressor completely, to utilize 3 pen springs instead of a single big one.
