This engaging project helps students apply classroom knowledge to create a functional speaker using straightforward steps that cover school topics like Electricity, Faraday's Law of induction, electromagnetism, magnetic fields, alternating current, acoustic sounds, and frequencies. The video I made, featuring 3D animation explaining the process, guides viewers through every step to build their very own working speaker. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kT_MhOC_ex0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bmT21EHKQuM Thanks for your support! How I Designed This I devoted many hours researching and studying speakers and how they can be created. My design is similar to the one Alexander Graham Bell used in 1876 when he uttered those historic first words, "Mr. Watson, come here — I want to see you." I then started modeling and printing different designs and iterations until I found the best and simplest design with the fewest parts. Moving the magnets to the top with tape in a cross pattern for extra vibration was actually a last-minute idea that worked out better than I thought. Project: 3D Printed Speaker Objectives: * Electricity * Acoustics * Faraday's Law of induction * Electromagnetism * Magnetic fields * Alternating current * Sound and frequencies Audiences: Anyone interested, particularly middle school to high school students who will enjoy this project. Preparation: materials and instructions are listed in the video I created. Materials: * 3 neodymium magnets (18x3mm) * 1 male to male stereo cable (3.5mm) * Magnet wire (32 gauge) * 2 Alligator clips Steps! The steps are listed in the video. Results: At the end of the project, students should have a working speaker they can keep and use as well as a deeper understanding of how speakers work and are created from simple parts.
