3D printed RC truck V3: Gearbox V3A
thingiverse
I've completed designing the gearbox V3A, possibly adding other ratios hence the "A." This design is significantly more robust than the V2 design and should work seamlessly with the V3 truck. I have thoroughly tested it by driving roughly both on pavement and indoors without encountering any issues. You can review the assembly video for this and the other parts on my YouTube channel. The necessary hardware includes: 4x M3x16 screws for the housing cap 2x M3 screws for mounting the motor 2x M3x10 screws for the bearing cap 1x M3x16-25 screw for attaching the U-joint 2-3 M3x16 screws for mounting the gearbox to the frame 1x M3 grub screw for securing the motor gear to the shaft 4x 6700zz bearings (10x15x4mm) To access more V3 parts, visit my collection on Thingiverse: http://www.thingiverse.com/MrCrankyface/collections/printed-rc-truck-v3 You can also find me at: YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/c/MrCrankyfaceProjects Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/mr.crankyface/ 3D Hubs: https://www.3dhubs.com/malmö/hubs/mrcrankyface Patreon: http://patreon.com/Mrcrankyface Print Settings: Printer: The Frankenstein Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 30-70% Notes: Print the two housing parts at 20-30% infill, and the cap will require support; you can use similar settings for the bearing cap. Print all shafts and gears at 60-80% infill; print the shafts with three perimeters to make them even stronger. Adjust your extrusion width to get as much infill as possible in the teeth of the gears.
