3D Printed Protective Face Shield

3D Printed Protective Face Shield

thingiverse

Since the medical community has a pressing need for protective visors and other PPE in 2020, myself and my colleagues at 3DVerkstan have dedicated many hours to designing a printable visor. This is a work-in-progress project that may undergo multiple revisions over the next few days or weeks. However, we are excited to share our first released version with you, which is on its way to being tested by a local hospital. The plastic shield can be crafted from any semi-stiff plastic sheet between 0.1 and 1mm in thickness, including overhead film, cover sheets for binding machines, as long as it is available in a suitable format. If you need the visor to sit more securely on your head or if you will be leaning over patients frequently and worry about it falling off, simply place a rubber band around the two hooks in the back. To print this design, you will require approximately 210x210mm of build area for printing two visors at once, or about 160x190mm if you are happy with producing one visor at a time. Materials and methods: A4 sheet of transparent plastic (PET recommended) Hole punch 3D Printer Rigid filament Rubber band (optional)
