3D Printed OpenPnp SMT Feeder Worm involute sprocket Gear Drive Test

We redesigned the automatic SMD strip feeder for our new pick and place machine to achieve optimal performance. To reduce motor speed and increase power, we experimented with various gear stages. Our goal was to minimize size while maximizing efficiency. We tested worm and involute drives to find the best solution. All gears were designed using Solidworks CAD software and 3D printed with a Ultimaker. The gears measure 25mm in diameter and have a module of 0.5.
