This isn't an original idea - numerous designs utilizing the same shape, hydration system, and connection type have been created by many individuals, making it difficult to pinpoint the originator. Nevertheless, I've developed my own take on this concept and adapted it into various sizes and configurations. I've come up with a range of designs, from compact nests to larger systems consisting of multiple medium-sized units. Printer tolerances have been incorporated into the models, ensuring that all prints will work seamlessly - I've personally printed them numerous times to test their effectiveness. Hydration is supplied through connections attached to the nests, while humidity is maintained by filling small reservoirs with cotton and adding sufficient water to saturate (but not flood) - these reservoirs feature holes on the sides. Adding a cover for the cotton would be beneficial to prevent moisture loss. The acrylic box used in this design was sourced from Dollar Tree for just $1; it's an excellent choice due to its affordability and ease of modification. To attach the box, simply use a drill bit at slow speeds or a Dremel attachment - make sure your bed is properly leveled to ensure the thread screw works effectively. For the top, cutting acrylic is a breeze and helps prevent ant escape. I recommend purchasing plastic through Dollar Tree (https://www.dollartree.com/bulk/Plastic-Picture-Frame) by using a fully plastic standing picture frame for maximum yield. To cut the plastic safely and efficiently, use a plastic cutting knife (such as this one: https://www.amazon.com/Hyde-Tools-45730-Plastic-Laminate/dp/B000C027ZE/ref=sr_1_21?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1517955733&sr=1-21&keywords=plastic+cutting) and a straight edge with clamps - I used cheap harbor freight clamps for $3. These tools are essential; attempting to cut the plastic without them will lead to frustration.
