3D printed model rocket
thingiverse
A fully 3D printed model rocket body, cap, and nosecone have been crafted. All you need to do is create a parachute, attach the nosecone to the body using a shock cord (rubber band), attach the parachute to the nosecone, insert a model rocket engine, and launch! Full instructions including pictures will be uploaded soon. Launches and awards: I've had 4 successful lift-offs and recoveries with zero failures so far. The first two were test launches to verify the strength of the model and its reuseability - it passed with flying colors. The third launch was at a Technology Student Association regional conference where it received 1st place for student-built rockets. The fourth and most recent launch was at the Technology Student Association state conference where it swept the field, receiving 1st place out of dozens of student-built rockets and high praise from the judges (one said I should publish it). The model has been highly successful, flying with no gyrations, separating effortlessly, and landing gently under my handmade parachute.
