3D Printed Maracas
thingiverse
Maracas are a vibrant Latin-American percussion instrument that can be easily crafted using 3D printing technology. To make them functional, simply add rice or other small objects inside the design. For the best results, check out this YouTube tutorial: https://youtu.be/kgQ9wV_uWOw. To print these maracas with precision, consider the following settings: Rafts should be used to ensure a strong foundation. Supports are not necessary, as the design is self-sustaining. A resolution of 0.2-0.4 millimeters will produce a detailed and accurate result. Infill density of 10% will provide a good balance between structure and weight. When printing reaches approximately 85mm, pause the process and fill the maracas about halfway with uncooked rice to create the signature rattling sound.
