When viewed up close, it appears to be a jumbled mess of lines, but step back and you'll see the image emerge. I was inspired by image-to-ASCII art, which you can learn more about by Googling it. The concept behind this is that varying line densities in each block create different gray-scale colors when viewed from afar. First, the image was converted to a 50x50 pixel gray-scale image and then broken down into line blocks. Since there's no STL file, I scripted the GCode directly using Python. My goal is simply to share my idea with you - if you're interested in learning more, please don't hesitate to reach out. The script could use some refinement, but if there's sufficient interest, I'm happy to tidy up the code and make it available.
