This night lamp was created and crafted as a unique gift for the new year. The concept emerged from an elaborate globe night light with a wake-up feature, which quickly spiraled out of control in terms of creativity. The design process unfolded within the realms of blender and tinkercad. It was 3D printed using a Zortrax M200 printer, renowned for its precision and quality. For the electronic components, a Teensy LC microcontroller was selected, complemented by a sleek steel button serving as a capacitive touch sensor and an infrared remote control system. In this clip, you can observe the different modes in action, with the buttons on the remote control being pressed out of frame. The night lamp boasts three primary features: One color mode, where a single hue dominates the display Two color mode, featuring a dynamic text color scheme Special programs, including a hue color loop, random color selection, and dual color circle effects The base of the lamp is slightly elevated above necessary height (approximately 2mm). To achieve a seamless fit between the top and bottom parts, I employed a 45-degree angle cut using a Dremel tool. For optimal results, it's recommended to make gradual adjustments in small steps. In a surprising twist, I had already printed the top part before realizing this adjustment was necessary. Those who wish to rework the components may find this information useful.
