Various 3D-printed game controller designs have been developed, all prototyped using a Voxel8 Development Kit printer. These models rely on Ortho-planar springs made of PLA and coated with conductive silver ink for circuit completion, enabling button presses to register. The Voxel8 Printer's pneumatic dispensing system prints traces that make 3D HID devices possible. Future applications include custom control systems, rapid prototyping, telemetry tools, and controller design for those with disabilities. The current lack of quick prototyping methods for electro-mechanical systems has been addressed by this 3D printing alternative, which could be utilized by major tech companies like Microsoft, Facebook, Steam, Nintendo, and Playstation for VR and standard controller designs. All HID controls are managed by a microcontroller with a USB transceiver, such as Teensy or Arduino Pro Micro. Additional information is available upon request.
