3D Printed Headphones - Headset Clip
thingiverse
I adore my 3D-printed headphones, but after making the switch to working from home, I got tired of holding my little lav mic in my hand or clipped to a plant. I looked at headsets, but I didn't want to replace the headphones I love so much. This clip attaches to the side of the headphones and provides an arm for attaching a lav mic. I didn't pay much attention to cable management, but silver duct tape seems to be good enough. Requirements: * Lav Mic https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074V1RDTP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 * 2x M3x6 socket-head screws. I'm sure you could get creative with glue and forgo these. To Assemble: * Remove the lav mic from the clip and unscrew the plastic microphone clip. Reattach this plastic clip to the tiny hole in the end of the microphone arm. I recommend adding a little CA glue as well, since the screw doesn't have much bite. * Reinstall the microphone into the clip on the end of the arm, and do some cable management. I used tape - I'm sure something more attractive can be devised. * Finally, place the retainer disk on the backside of the clip so it sits flush with both sides. Align the holes on the arm to the holes on the retainer disk and drive in the two M3x6mm screws. Tighten the screws until the arm moves freely but stays where you put it. Eventually I want to remix the actual ear-cups to provide a conical mounting system for the microphone arm. Enjoy!
