The RepRap isn't the only 3D printer that can replicate itself, now MakerBot can do it too. This MakerBot is made from approximately 150 individual pieces printed on - yes, you guessed it - a MakerBot. My MakerBot worked tirelessly every day for about a month straight to complete this project, and I'm incredibly proud of the end result. There are more pictures at the bottom of this page; (the pictures don't do it justice in the least, but it's truly a thing of beauty). Now, I've added a zip file containing all STL- and MAX-files. Instructions: Print every piece and assemble them together to create individual faces (left, right, front, top, bottom, middle, back, and power cover). I used a hot-glue gun for this purpose. Once every segment is printed and assembled, build the MakerBot as you would a regular wooden one. I had to remove about an eighth of an inch from the right side of the acrylic z-stage to enable it to move freely up and down due to excessive use of hot glue.
