3D Printed Face Shield
thingiverse
This design is based on the model provided by 3dverkstan.se for protective visors. I've included both STL and Fusion 360 files to facilitate easy modification or replication. The original design had three major issues that were addressed in this revised version. Firstly, I modified the ends of the visor to be straight rather than curved. This change was made in response to feedback from healthcare workers who found the curved shape clashed with face mask straps and headbands. Secondly, I replaced the unique attachment mechanism with a standard 3-hole punch design. While this change reduces the number of possible attachment points, it is not a significant issue given the other improvements. Lastly, I added notches to each of the three visor attachment nubs. This modification serves two purposes: it makes the plastic more likely to fit over the nubs smoothly, and it also prevents the visor from tearing or falling off due to friction with the attachment points.
