Makes for a cleaner installation and allows you to remove the unit easily for winter. The backplate stays on the wall, you just unbolt the strap(s) to remove the unit. You have the option of printing 1 or 2 straps. 1 strap hold the water timer nicely but you may want to add the second strap. Both straps are identical. I used 1 1/4" length To mount the straps, use 2 or 4 stainless M3 bolts 10mm long with washers and corresponding nuts depending on if you choose to use 1 strap or two. The nut diameter measured from flat to flat side is 5.38mm wide. The backplate has a nut cut out pattern at the back to prevent the nut from turning. The backplate is designed for the nut to be a tight press-fit , sitting flush to prevent them from falling out. Use a set of pliers or a small vice to press-fit them in. Refer to dimensional drawing which is the unit mm.
