3d printed copper embossing die

The intricate grapevine design was expertly printed onto a sheet of acrylic using high-quality ABS filament. As we previously discovered, the combination of ABS and acrylic possesses exceptional stick properties, making it nearly impossible to separate once bonded - an ideal trait for this particular application. Following the print's completion, I carefully placed a sheet of annealed copper over the design and subjected it to intense pressure under a 40-ton hydraulic press, utilizing a precision-crafted urethane conforming die. The resulting embossing process produced a truly remarkable effect. Visitors can view stunning examples of this technique in action at http://www.copperimpressons.com. This exceptional project has also garnered attention from the 3D Printing Today podcast, which is available for download on popular platforms such as iTunes and Stitcher radio, or directly from the source at http://threedprintingtoday.libsyn.com/.
