Knots are essentially three-dimensional structures that can be visualized as the result of twisting a circle in space. To gain deeper insights, we examine these complex knots by analyzing their two-dimensional projections. We are using cutting-edge technology, such as 3D printing, to develop and visualize various configurations. This series showcases our designs for 15 unique knots through seven crossings, presented in diverse shapes including stick, lattice, torus, petal, and pretzel conformations. Constructing 3D models that can actually be printed can be extremely challenging. We combined multiple computer-aided design tools like Mathematica, Blender, Tinkercad, Knotplot, SeifertView, and OpenSCAD to 3D print the conformations through seven crossings. For more in-depth information about the underlying mathematical principles behind these designs, we recommend checking out our blog at MakerHome, starting from Day 266: http://makerhome.blogspot.com/2014/05/day-266-knot-conformations-series.html
