3D Printed Combs

thingiverse

I recently broke my only comb and gave it a proper burial after crying over its loss. To replace it, I designed two 3D printed combs that meet different needs. The first comb is called the 3DP Comb and features fine teeth. It measures 150mm in length, with each tooth spaced 40mm apart and having a thickness of 4mm. I printed mine using white PLA plastic with 20% rectilinear infill and no supports. The second comb, known as the 3DP Comb 2, is larger and features coarse teeth. It has the same length as the first comb but its teeth are thicker and farther apart to accommodate people with thick or long hair like me. I printed mine again using white PLA plastic with 20% rectilinear infill and no supports. I designed both combs in Fusion 360, a program where I often design parts on a different Cartesian plane than most 3D printing software, so you may need to rotate the comb before printing. Both combs seem strong enough for even thick, unwieldy hair, but I haven't conducted long-term testing yet.
