3D Printed CO2 Car Project - Year 2

3D Printed CO2 Car Project - Year 2

thingiverse

This year's CO2 car projects certainly took things to new heights compared to last year's team (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:332868). Students worked on vehicles that varied from a semi to the bat mobile, and plenty of others in between were also part of the mix. This year I encouraged my students to integrate even more math into their projects by asking them to come up with an equation that would allow them to figure out their cars' weights before they were printed. This approach proved highly successful, with most students ending up only a gram or two off from their estimated and actual weights. By partnering with not one but two different high schools for this year's event, I managed to generate even greater excitement and drive in my own students to excel. It's my goal to continue expanding this competition to more and more schools in the future.
