3D Printed CNC Mill mods
thingiverse
I recently upgraded my DIY CNC mill, drawing inspiration from a similar project found at instructables.com. The first change I made was to increase the Z-axis height and modify the Z-slide to accommodate this new spindle I sourced from eBay. I also installed a laser attachment on the mill, leveraging information from 3dpburner.blogspot.com to incorporate their build into mine with some key modifications. Moving forward, I replaced the lead screws on both the X- and Y-axes with belts, which required adjusting the existing mechanism. To facilitate belt-driven movement, I utilized two pulleys, one for the X-axis and a duplicate that can be used for the Y-axis if needed. I sourced my stepper pulley from thingiverse.com/thing:973209, opting to purchase it rather than print my own. Additionally, I found a versatile 3D printed CNC mill design at thingiverse.com/thing:826098, which provided many of the parts I needed for this upgrade. If you have any questions or would like further clarification on these modifications, please feel free to send me a message.
