So, it turns out that 3D printing works great on clothing! I'm super excited for No Man's Sky! Hi #PRINTERNETS! I created this awesome No Man's Sky logo shirt by reworking the Atlas and stand designs from In3Designs. After lots of trial and error, I figured out how to make it work! Here are the key steps: Start with three thin layers, use low heat, and a layer height lower than .25. Use an Avery Label Sheet (check out http://www.avery.com/avery/en_us/Products/Labels/Addressing-Labels/White-Mailing-Labels_05353.htm). Cut out a sheet the size of your build plate, stick it to the back side of the cloth, and clip down the cloth with the sheet underneath on all four corners. Make sure everything is flat. Level up your build plate so that your nozzle just touches the cloth. I'm not sure how well it will hold up in the washing machine (I think using fabric glue would be a good idea). Check out my build video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ybHYQp4rqzg. See you next time!
