3D-Printed Birdhouse, A Sign
thingiverse
This large birdhouse was a collaboration between me and my daughter for the 12th annual Birdhouse Display and Benefit Auction at The Arboretum in Lexington, KY. Inspired by thing 47032, its design resembles a road sign with pictographs for birds and houses. We call it "A Sign," as it showcases the potential of 3D printing. Created using PLA on a MakerGear M2, each part can be customized with fill factors between 5%-10% to save material. Although painted for weather protection, the birdhouse's .stl files are available for download. The original instructions can be found at http://www.instructables.com/id/3D-Printed-Birdhouse-A-Sign/.
