3D printed articulating LED lamp - Phone holder
thingiverse
I was searching for a way to keep my phone stable while watching videos or before drifting off to sleep. Holding the phone suspended in mid-air can be exhausting. To make printing easier, I broke down the design into separate components that don't require supports. Some printers might struggle with the joint's clearance. OpenSCAD files are available upon request. I refined the ball joint multiple times but faced a problem: when I scaled it up, it would break during assembly or handling. At its current size, assembling and carefully maneuvering it for the first few movements is necessary. I designed the ball joint with zero clearance to securely hold the phone in place after use, but unfortunately, it doesn't work well. After repeated uses, the ball joint becomes loose, so I'm looking for an alternative solution.
