Runner up winner of Instructables Plastics Contest! *** Update (26/09/2017): New thing files added: - Arms with three different sizes: 100, 140 and 200 mm - New arm type: mixed arm design (hole at one end and a stud at the other). With this you can extend the reach of the lamp one arm at a time (rather than needing a pair of arms). This may replace the other two types of arms (male and female). *** Update (31/03/2019): New thing files added: - Double lamp holder, lamp cap, lamp cap with button, wire holder, g-clamp mounting, clip mounting and tube mounting. Get yours at: http://bit.ly/2WBY0jm Having good lighting at your desk or at a reading location is essential for visual comfort and eye health. Finding a lamp that suits your needs, however, can be challenging. That's why I'm excited to share this 3D printed articulating lamp project with you. With this design, you can configure the lamp according to your preferences. Whether you need a compact or extended reach, this lamp is customizable to fit your workspace. Although the final product may be more expensive than traditional lamps, none will offer the same level of configurability and pride in creating it yourself! If you have access to a 3D printer or are part of a maker/hacker space, this project is an excellent opportunity to hone your skills and equip your workshop with a unique piece. Adapted from Kenneth's awesome Articulating, Wall-Mounted, Magnetic Phone Mount design, I've transformed it into an articulating wall-mounted LED lamp. For full instructions, visit: https://www.instructables.com/id/Articulating-LED-Lamp-REMIXED and https://www.instructables.com/id/3D-Printed-Articulating-LED-Lamp When working with electricity, exercise caution and ensure a safe connection. Double-check all components are properly connected and insulated before plugging in the power cord. If you're unsure or inexperienced, consider seeking help. Remember to avoid touching exposed wires or metal parts when the lamp is energized. Some LED spots have a metal heat sink; be careful not to touch that area while it's on! Keep the lamp out of reach of children and animals, and never use it near wet surfaces. Please note that this is an experimental design, so use it with caution.
