I built my first airplane many years ago, and I wanted to recreate the model using as many 3D printed parts as possible based on the "And now" design (check out the PDF). I opted for a 1806-2300kv motor paired with a 6x4 prop (a 7-inch prop might be even better, but an 8-inch one was overkill since I was already pushing 50 watts at 6 amps, so I went with the 6x4 instead). A lower KV motor and a larger prop would have been a better combination, but I used what I had on hand and kept it as light as possible. I powered my aircraft with a 2s 500mah lipo battery and equipped it with 2 x 5g and 1 x 9g servos. The key to its smooth flight is keeping it lightweight and avoiding over-powering. It flies at nearly walking pace, which I find quite enjoyable.
