3D printed alpha Stirling engine #2
thingiverse
The revised Stirling engine prototype showcases improvements such as larger main axis ball bearings and a syringe support design (see provided instructions). The video demonstrates smooth operation; view it here. Additionally, a video displaying the syringe connection can be found here. Instructions detail how to connect syringes, with the biggest challenge being creating a PLA support for the heated syringe. To do this, a larger hollow cylinder is used, and 6mm OD x 3mm ID silicon tubing acts as a thermal barrier between the glass and PLA components. A word of caution: this engine operates with an alcohol burner, posing potential risks to children; adult supervision is required during operation.
