3d Printed Airboat
thingiverse
Currently in development stage, I anticipate assembling this project by week's end. The engine block features a simple circular design to securely fasten the engine, utilizing rubber bands or cable ties. For prop stands, I rely on 9.5mm dowel. The rudder is designed for straightforward integration with servos. Meanwhile, I've opted for an affordable airplane prop from rchobbies.com.au/store/product_info.php?cPath=33_1047&products_id=74011, known as a "cheap and nasty" choice by some enthusiasts. I've decided on a cheap brushless engine and ESC, along with a NiCad battery and the Fly Sky remote/receiver kit, available at rchobbies.com.au/store/product_info.php?cPath=1101_1029_1031&products_id=57907. This kit offers convenience and value. For hull assembly, I will be attaching the glued bottom to an extruded polystyrene base. Print 2 copies of Hull3 for a catamaran-style bow and as many Hull4s as needed to match your desired boat length, taking care to fit each component correctly with my Up Mini.
