3d printed 5 inch ultralight fpv drone frame
thingiverse
This is a 5 inch quadcopter frame designed to be used for ultra lights/ sub 250g builds hence the 12mm motor mounts. It is around 68g heavy including the top plate when printed in PLA using these suggested settings: - 0.2mm layer height - 0.64mm extrusion width - 2 perimeter walls - 15% cubic infill - 4 top/bottom layers I printed the frame in PLA+ from esun and am planning on trying ABS as it has a lower density and higher strength/weight ratio. I am using the emax eco 2 2004 motors and 5030 bi-blade hq props. To secure the motors and the top plate to the frame I use 6mm long M2 cylinder head screws. To mount the flight controller/esc/vtx stack I suggest using m2x25mm hex screws, m2 nylock nuts and brass heat set inserts from ruthex or similar. This frame is made for 20x20mm mounting. The top plate has a 19mm fpv camera mount. I have not actually tested this frame yet and will be uploading pictures of the build once completed. (still waiting on screws)
