Hello and Welcome! With this data package, you'll get the 3D files to print a turbine as seen in my YouTube video: https://youtu.be/kQswSftr9UE. Four files are included (wing, arm, hub_a, hub_b) in two formats (.obj, .stl). The parts are prepared for small 3D printers like the Micro3D with a build volume of 100 mm. To build a wind turbine like the one in the video, you must print the "wing" and "arm" parts six times, and the "hub_a" part once. The "hub_b" part is identical to "hub_a," except for the holes that have a 30-degree offset. It can be used to connect two or more turbines with a 30-degree offset. If you print the parts without modification, you'll get a turbine with a diameter of 530 mm and a weight of about 350 grams. This is perfect for small wind- and high-torque water applications. To create larger turbines, use a bigger 3D printer and scale up the parts. For example, if you use an Ultimaker 2 with a build volume of about 220 mm, you'll get a very large turbine with a diameter of 1166 mm. If you generate electricity from wind or solar power, consider using a filament maker like the Redetec Protocycler and feed it with waste plastic. This can make turbines almost free! Download, print, and create energy!
