Experience an innovative 3D printable rotary rolamite bearing prototype. As it's experimental, no testing or printing has been done yet. Design inspired by Figure 16 at http://www.rexresearch.com/wilkes/1wilkes.htm. If you print, kindly share feedback on performance or better still, send me one! For printing, you need RTV sealant-grade silicone (other silicones may work), and optional M8 studding, bolts. Follow these steps: 1) Print six rolamite_roller_print_six.stl parts, and one of each other part; 2) Mold the flexible silicone band using rolamite_band_mold1.stl. Carefully fill the channel with silicone, avoiding bubbles. Apply pressure by inserting M8 studding through the hole, adding nuts on the end, and tightening, or use clamps; 3) Let it cure; 4) Remove flexible silicone band from mold using a toothpick; trim excess silicone; 5) Assemble as per picture.
