It was my third wedding anniversary and I set out to create some bespoke roses for my beloved wife using our 3D printer. A stunning model from Thinglink caught my eye, but it required some refining as the original petals were eerily thin, making slicing a challenging task. To resolve this issue, I thickened the petals to an even 1mm, a subtle tweak that greatly improved their overall appearance. I discovered that three sizes of rose were available, each with its own unique characteristics - a grand open rose, a compact close rose, and a miniature close rose. Inspired by Smoutech's wise suggestion, we deliberately left a small insertion point below the flowers to accommodate a 3mm length of filament, giving our roses an extra layer of depth and dimension.
