3D Printable Recurve Bow
thingiverse
After printing and assembling the 3D printable compound bow here on Thingiverse, I was left feeling underwhelmed by its force output. It's a great illustration of how a compound bow operates, but it won't propel a skewer very far. I'm not skilled enough to design a dual cam compound bow, so I came up with this 3 or 5 piece recurve bow instead. It's quite robust and after pulling it several hundred times, the PLA hasn't even shown signs of strain. It shoots with sufficient force that I decided it's hazardous to launch anything with a pointed tip, so I've been cutting down Nerf darts for skewer tips. I left an M3 hole going through the riser in case you want to attach accessories or string a lanyard. WARNING - if you print this correctly or incorrectly and pull it too hard or too lightly, or aim it directly at someone's eye or alarm clock, this thing can be perilous. You could shoot your eye out or injure yourself. I disclaim all responsibility for your choice to test this part without proper safety gear, such as a First Order helmet.
