The concept of creating a basic heat exchanger using 3D printing has sparked my interest due to the technology's capability for building intricate and large surface area structures. Although most common 3D printed materials display low thermal conductivity, particularly those made from standard plastics or less advanced metal powders such as aluminum-based filaments, certain designs might see an increase in performance based on their unique operating principle - primarily exchanging heat between two separate liquids without intermixing them. Therefore, with reduced reliance on high conductivity materials I opted to create a 3D printable model of a basic heatchanger. Its central core spans approximately sixty millimeters across and the device is capable of achieving heat transfer rates in excess of thirty Watts per Kelvin.
