To attach a GoPro to my children's ski helmets, I opted against purchasing expensive original parts and designed my own holder instead. The base is curved for a better fit on the helmets. To create this holder, follow these steps: 1) Download the STL, STEP, or IGES file and import it into your preferred slicer software like Slic3r. 2) Slice and print the holder vertically with support, using an infill based on the material stiffness (e.g., PETG at 30%). Tested successfully with a Prusa MK3 printer and PETG/ColorFabb XT or HT filaments. 3) For installation, ensure ambient temperature is at least 15°C to properly adhere the double-sided tape. Clean both the holder and helmet with alcohol or isopropyl alcohol, apply the tape on the holder, and attach it to the helmet with pressure. You can also access the STL, STEP, IGES formats, and Fusion 360 source file for your own customization (please cite the source as it's under Creative Common license). Support Fusion 360 to keep free hobby-based 3D CAD accessible in the future.
