3D Printable Fixed Iron Sights
thingiverse
I really needed a pair of iron sights for my gun, but the previous sights I made (the folding sights at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:603954) were a huge pain in the neck to get printed properly, mainly because when I designed them, I had zero experience with 3D printing... So I designed everything without any tolerances. I haven't abandoned the folding sights, but it takes forever to fix the files I made. They are designed to work with other commercial iron and red dot sights at a default height of 35 mm from the top of the rails. As the title says, they are fixed sights, aka nonadjustable. Printer Settings Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Custom printer Supports: No Resolution: 0.25 mm Infill: 20% Archimedian Notes: These settings were used to make the models shown in the pictures. Don't feel obligated to use them - just make sure you don't need supports. They are made to fit snugly, so no screws or bolts are needed. I printed the file at 98% scale to get a really good fit. Keep this in mind when you download them - they might be too loose at first. Print them halfway at 100% scale and see if they need to be bigger or smaller, then scale them accordingly.
