3D-print your own 1.75mm filament! Check out other community makers' incredible creations! Watch the video for more information and a closer look at these prints: https://youtu.be/6kbjZobJtbM This technique may seem crazy, but it works! You'll be able to create one-of-a-kind prints and match colors perfectly. Here's how it works: changing filament colors during printing creates multi-colored filaments that can be printed again for a homogeneous finish. Use 100% infill and turn off combing – I'm still working on slicer settings, as I get wired travels in the middle, making my filament less consistent. Share your slicer settings if you find something that works well! When printing with 3D-printed filament, increase flow rates – I had to increase mine to 150%, but this number may vary depending on your printer. Experimentation is key. There are two STLs: one yields about 7g of material, and the other gives around 30g. Both designs accommodate a ~200x200mm print bed. --- Update: I added an ø110mm version for smaller 3D printers, yielding around 10g of material. This version is not tested yet! Thanks to Jepler for confirming that this one works! --- Update 05/05/2019: I'd like to thank All3DP for featuring this model on their website! Check out their article here: https://all3dp.com/1/weekend-project-create-your-own-multi-color-filament-with-3d-printed-filament/ I added an ø290mm version for 300x300 printers, but it's not yet tested. If anyone needs a custom-sized filament for larger or smaller print beds, feel free to request it in the comments – I'll upload one as soon as possible! --- Update 10/05/2019: Check out _Icarus_' insane write-up and testing! He achieved some truly amazing results. Click here to find out more: https://www.thingiverse.com/make:653775 --- Update 19/06/2019: I added an 85mm version, but it's not tested yet. I made the smallest diameter as small as possible to give as much filament as possible. Users will have to judge how printable the center part of the filament is and if it would jam their extruder setup or not. The center part can be cut off to avoid jamming.
