I made this watch in 2016 when my partners trusted Casio MQ24 broke down and needed a replacement right away. Two years later the watch is still running smoothly without any issues. How is it made? It's pretty straightforward, actually. The guts of the MQ24 fit snugly inside the case, and the 'glass' is friction fitted up front. There are a few protruding bumps on the back of the MQ24s guts which you'll need to push back for the back cover of the watch to fit properly. I ran a bit of hot glue all around the edges of the back of the watch and pressed the back plate in firmly. The back can easily be replaced by running a tiny amount of 99.9% alcohol around the edge and popping out the back with a small screwdriver. You'll also need a 0.5mm / 1mm drill bit to clear up the hole for the crown with the tiny pin to go through it. If the crown + pin don't 'click' when pressed back in, gently file down some of the nub on the side of the body. If V29.2 doesn't allow the glass to be pressed in, try V29.3 instead. You now have a brand new watch :). I've done a fair bit of testing with different materials and can highly recommend using the softest flexible material you can find for the strap. I used FlexiSmart from Fillamentum, and it worked out great. Tougher materials will leave you with an edge that's constantly cutting into your arm - not pleasant at all. It's lost its water resistance, but it's held up to washing the dishes daily and cycling daily for two years through England's seasons without any problems. I've made various versions of this watch and sent them to friends across the world for testing. After two years of real-world use, they have yet to fail. Print these watches in any material you like - I've had great success with PLA, ABS, and wood filament (in photo). Good luck!
