3D Printable 3018 Chip Shield!
thingiverse
CNC's can get messy, so we designed a Chip Shield for the 3018 desktop unit. This shield is 3D printable, but our first inclination was to laser cut one on eBay/K40. Many people don't have these machines, but they should; check out this link for deals: http://diy3dtech.com/purchase-laser/. We've also included a DXF model and Fusion 360 files in this Make so you can laser cut or CNC if you have a larger machine. To secure the panels to the rails, we'll use M5-8mm bolts (see more here: https://amzn.to/2Wi8yXy) and M5 T-Nuts (https://amzn.to/2Lg2zMk). Note: You'll need a large 3D printer like a CR-10 for this project. If using CURA, turn Ironing on and flip the second one in your slicer to create left and right versions for a smooth finish.
