This is a Camera Arm operated by an Arduino CNC Shield, featuring 3 NEMA stepper motors for control. Prior to constructing, it's crucial to read and comprehend all instructions. The arm can be configured with various motor options including NEMA 17 Direct Drive, NEMA 23 Direct Drive, or NEMA 17 4.16:1 Gearing. To build, you will need additional hardware such as 6 sealed/shielded 608 size ball bearings, three 8mm shafts of 130mm, 55mm, and 100mm lengths, a nut (either 1/4-20 or 3/8-16), and a 1-inch hex head cap bolt. Fasteners required include four M5x27mm screws, four M4x10mm screws, and sixteen M4x20mm screws. Additional hardware for motor mounting varies per motor type. For NEMA 23 Direct, Tilt, and Turn motors, you'll need eight low-profile M5x27mm screws and four attached 3D printed standoffs of 50mm length. For NEMA 23 Direct Pan, four M5x27mm screws are needed. If opting for a NEMA 17 Direct motor, use eight M5x27mm screws along with an attached 3D printed standoff of 50mm and a NEMA 23-17 adapter plate secured with a M3x6 screw. For the geared NEMA 17 motor, you'll need a 50T spur gear, 12T pinion gear, an attached NEMA 17 geared plate (with covered gears if desired), a M4 set screw of less than 6mm, four M3x6 screws, four M5x10 low-profile screws, an M4x20 screw, and an attached 8mm ID split shim. For printing components, you'll need two shaft collar bearing mounts, one bottom stepper mount, either a sheet-drilled bottom plate or a thicker 3D printed version, CameraMountv3, two coupler part 1 and 2 (if using with NEMA 23), pan and mount tilt, pan set, tilt set, one of two tripod nut mounts, turn and mount plate, and turn set. Note that this design is not personally built or tested by the author, who also requests for users to share their software solutions and build experiences. The changelog records updates made on 3/24/2018, which includes adding an .iam file as temporary assembly instructions until the Inventor Presentation tool is mastered.
