3d print coated with solid copper metal
thingiverse
The initial ABS model was painted with conductive copper paint and subsequently underwent electroforming to deposit a thin layer of copper. This process resembles electroplating but results in a significantly thicker metal coating. The objective is to achieve a sufficient metal thickness for the dissolution of the underlying ABS, resulting in a standalone metallic structure. This project was showcased on the 3D Printing Today podcast, accessible via iTunes, Stitcher radio, or directly at http://threedprintingtoday.libsyn.com/.
