Do you also have a great amount of samples lying around? Okay, you could print another boat with it. Or use them to create a mosaic of your choice. I've used a program called PicToBrick http://www.pictobrick.de/en/pictobrick.shtml to create pixel pictures that you can use as a template for your mosaic. The kit consists of the board 16x16mm, the board 4x16, the plug, a small tes board 4x4, two sorts of connector and the hanger. I created such a small size board because then people who only own a printer with a small bed can also print these. Simply use the connectors and you can create really big mosaics. The first mosaic I wanted to try is the logo of a dear friend of mine DasMia https://twitter.com/DasMia3 You can also find her awesome creations here on MyMiniFactory. A picture of the finished mosaic will be uploaded once it's finished. In order to succeed, you will have to tune in your printer, your software and level your printer spot on! So besides creating the peg you will also pass the torture test. In one of the pictures, you see a row of dark red pegs plugged into the board. On the right, you can see what pegs look like when the nozzle is a bit too far away from the bed or you're underextruding. The ones in the middle are just right. The ones on the left can't be plugged all the way in. If you feel an elephant foot on the first layer, your nozzle is too close to the bed. If you don't feel an elephant foot, your line width is too wide or you're overextruding. In my case, the Prusament was spot on. But the Fillamentum needed some tuning. The white Filament PM still needs a bit of adjustment. The plugs are too loose. I've added another Pixx-Cell pixel called "elephantsafe." Instead of 5mm x 5mm, it has a footprint of 4.9mm x 4.9mm. This will help if your printer creates pixels with a small elephant foot. The normal pixel will fit perfectly into the board side by side with other pixels when your printer is tuned spot on. The pixel can be up to 5.16mm x 5.16mm. If they are bigger, you'll have a problem. So the elephantsafe version might help. Please share your creations with me. I'd love to see what you come up with!
