3D nozzle deburring / polishing bit
thingiverse
I've seen those cheap Chinese E3D-compatible nozzles that are riddled with pits and burrs on the tip. If you take a close look at one under a microscope, it's clear they're not worth using in their current state. I decided to create something to help polish those nozzle tips, making them actually useful instead of risking failed prints due to their poor quality. This little device fits into a standard electric drill with a 1/4-inch chuck. Simply screw your nozzle in, place it in the drill, and spin it against some fine sandpaper for about 20-30 seconds. The photo shows a 0.3mm stainless steel nozzle that came with a package of nozzle cleaning tools before and after polishing. I had actually been looking to get those tools, but I ended up rescuing the nozzles instead. Unfortunately, I gave up on the 0.2mm one because its hole is significantly off-center.
