What it is: This is a model I did of the NASA logo. I wanted a 3D logo and one where the "swoosh" is free hanging. While it forces printing with support (unless you orient the model carefully and accept a few supports on the base and print with a raft), I think it, by way of being free hanging, represents a flying airplane, or movement into the skies, which ties in with the original representational purpose of the red bit which is to represent wings and aeronautics. I designed this in Fusion 360 working off a 2D image of the logo. I think this model doesn't lend itself so well to be painted. Its possible to paint it, and I think I probably will wind up painting it, but I'd recommend priming it then using fast drying acrylic paints and do multiple coats till you get a solid color.
