3DCONNEXION design proposal My design criteria are the optimum use of the left hand putting all the necessary keys ergonomically. To execute a command in a CAD application means moving the mouse to the source menu and maybe a sub menu putting the numeric keyboard will reduce measurement hand motion. The wheel switch rotates 10 deg on either side with 2 programmable commands on each side and the depression of the wheel will give a fifth command so all in all there are 35 programmable commands which are quite sufficient for any professional CAD user. The programmable buttons placed ergonomically at the users fingertips will make the 3D mouse indispensable because it will reduce the number of hand movements between the mouse and the keyboard. In this design I added vertical and horizontal adjustment to the palm rest, this allows the wrist angle to be more natural and reduce strain the forward and backward motion of the palm rest allow access to the numeric keyboard. which I believe should be padded with Jell. I also added 2 keyboards one on each side at a 45 deg angle to be used with the thumb and little finger.
