3D Modular Snap Puzzle Mazes
cults3d
I designed 3D puzzle toys with a small ball bearing that navigates through a complex 3D labyrinth. The goal was to create modular, customizable mini 3D mazes that can be snapped together to form a larger, more challenging maze. Each individual maze is approximately 2" square and has an entrance/exit for the bearing on each side to connect with other mazes seamlessly. I used a standard 4.5mm BB gun pellet as the ball bearing in these toys. These customizable puzzle toys are meant to be fun and entertaining. To make creating your own mazes quick and easy, I created a grid-like template that can be used to design unique labyrinths. After making the template, it took me about ten minutes to cut out the spaces for each sample maze. In the future, I plan to improve the snap mechanism and adjust the template sizing for better results. Two sample mazes are uploaded, and I made both quickly using the template. If you want to create your own custom mazes, I recommend using Tinkercad. Simply import the template into Tinkercad, use rectangular holes to cut out spaces for the ball bearing, or click on the Tinkercad link below and copy and edit the file. There are already two properly sized hole cutouts in the file that can be duplicated. https://tinkercad.com/things/bEoRg82tDPK
