BRDM-2 (GAZ-41) - an armored reconnaissance and patrol vehicle, is a further development of the BRDM-1. BRDM-2 was serially produced from 1963 to 1982 by the Gorky Automobile Plant and from 1982 to 1989 by the Arzamas Machine-Building Plant (as well as under license in Poland, Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia). In comparison with modern armored vehicles, the BRDM-2 has low security, its armor protects only from small arms bullets and shrapnel.
