The BRDM-2 (GAZ-41) is a heavily armored reconnaissance and patrol vehicle that offers a significant upgrade over its predecessor, the BRDM-1. Produced from 1963 to 1982 by the Gorky Automobile Plant, with additional production at the Arzamas Machine-Building Plant from 1982 to 1989, as well as under license in Poland, Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia, this vehicle has been a mainstay of military operations. While its armor may not be on par with modern standards, protecting only against small arms fire and shrapnel, the BRDM-2 excels in off-road capabilities, making it an ideal choice for reconnaissance missions.
