When constructing this aircraft, I arrived at the stage where selecting a motor was necessary. The suggested motor carried a hefty price tag of over $40! However, I discovered the DYS motor, model D3542, which could be purchased for under $20. I decided to go with it. Upon receiving the motor, I realized that it mounted from the back rather than the front as the recommended motor did. This led me to design a new motor mount. After numerous attempts, I finally came up with this version, which I believe is significantly superior to the original design. It boasts several advantages: The motor does not directly contact the plastic mount, reducing heat-related issues. Multiple mounting points are available on the aircraft's hull, allowing for the use of glue at various interfaces. This design also enables the use of a less expensive motor. Furthermore, the motor can still be removed through the hatch. The forces exerted by the motor do not tug on the screws. Additionally, this design is printable without supports and allows for the use of inserts to secure the screws.
